How cooperatives work

Desjardins Group is the largest cooperative financial group in Canada. It comprises a network of caisses, credit unions and business centres in Québec and Ontario, and some twenty subsidiary companies in life and general insurance, securities brokerage, venture capital and asset management, many of which are active across the country.

Every caisse and credit union is a financial services cooperative that serves and protects the interests of its members. Desjardins Business centres are owned by the caisses in the area and together, they meet the needs of the members in their community.

Together, subsidiaries, caisses, credit unions and business centres offer nearly 6 million members and clients a full range of financial products and services.
