Réal Bellemare

Executive Vice-President, Risk Management, Desjardins Group

Réal Bellemare has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice-President, Risk Management, Desjardins Group. Mr. Bellemare is responsible for managing risk (credit risk, market risk, operational risk, etc.), defining risk limits and policies and ensuring the performance of risk measuring and monitoring systems for Desjardins Group. He is also responsible for implementing the Basel II Accord, operationalizing risk management and supporting the caisses and business sectors in this area.

Mr. Bellemare joined Desjardins Group in 2009 as Vice-President, Corporate Banking and Capital Market Risk and Special Assignments.

Mr. Bellemare has a BA in Finance and an MBA in SME Management and International Management from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales. He has several years of experience in risk management.
