Marie-Huguette Cormier is Executive Vice-President of Communications at Desjardins Group.

Ms. Cormier is responsible for promoting the consistency of Desjardins Group communications, both internally and externally, supporting the President, business lines and communications support activities, and ensuring that communications regarding Desjardins Group restructuring efforts are aligned.

Between 1989 and 2000, she held various positions in the areas of development, service quality and strategy consulting at the Fédération des caisses Desjardins de Québec. Then, for the newly-formed federation, she was in turn Executive Vice-President of the Consumer Markets Executive Division, Executive Vice-President of Asset Management, and Vice-President of the Financial Services Division. Thereafter, she became Senior Vice-President of the Strategic Communications and Executive Affairs Administrative Division of Desjardins Group.

Marie-Huguette Cormier completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1985 as well as an MBA in 1989 at Université Laval. Involved in amateur sports for 30 years, she has presided over selection committees and sports events both on the regional, provincial and federal level. In addition to her involvement in sports, Marie-Huguette Cormier supports the community. She is currently a member of the Conseil pour l'avancement de la Faculté d'administration de l'Université Laval. She is also President of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec Council.

In November 2009, she was named 1 of Canada's 100 most powerful women by the Women's Executive Network.
