Marc Laplante

Senior Executive Vice-President, Desjardins Group

Marc Laplante is Senior Executive Vice-President, Desjardins Group. He is responsible for managing and coordinating group operations. He also heads the for the main strategic organization-wide projects.

In addition, Mr. Laplante is responsible for organizing major Desjardins Group restructuring projects, implementing projects to support the development plan and increasing the organizational performance and development of Desjardins Group.

Before being appointed to this position, Mr. Laplante held the position of Senior Executive Vice-President, Strategy, Performance and Development, Desjardins Group, from May 2009 to February 2011.

Mr. Laplante joined Desjardins in 1986. From May 2008 to April 2009, Mr. Laplante held the position of Senior Vice-President, Federation Finance and Credit/Desjardins Group Development after serving as Senior Vice-President, Finance and Credit since 2005.

Mr. Laplante graduated in 1981 from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in Accounting and in 1996 from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Business Management. He has been a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés since 1983. He has more than 25 years of experience in highly diversified fields of financial expertise, in both the personal and business financial services sectors.
