Validate the authenticity of e-mail

If you receive e-mail that seemingly comes from Desjardins and asks you to confirm your personal information, assume it is fraudulent. We will never, under any circumstances, contact you by e-mail in the event of an emergency. Learn how to recognize phony e-mails.

If you check your e-mail or log on to AccèsD on a public computer, make sure that you log off, clear the cache memory and close your browser before leaving.

Be careful when you download attachments as they may contain viruses. Don't open e-mail from senders you don't know. Learn how to protect your PC from computer viruses.

Most independent software vendors of antivirus programs work with e-mail account providers to offer services to counter spam. Ask the vendor for details.
