Sainte-Justine UHC
Desjardins Group is proud to support the Centre d'apprentissage des attitudes et habiletés cliniques (CAAHC), a key innovative project for training the upcoming generation of medical students in Quebec. "This centre will significantly affect the well-being of sick children and the community," stated Monique F. Leroux, President and CEO of Desjardins, at the official inauguration.

As a major sponsor of the CAAHC, Desjardins will be contributing $500,000 to the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation over 5 years.

The CAAHC will be the first skills training centre of its kind in Canada dedicated to mother-child health. This unique centre will use cutting-edge technology such as robotics and virtual patients. Thanks to the CAAHC, the Sainte-Justine UHC will be able to offer sick children and pregnant women one of the best centres in the world in terms of research, teaching and excellent care.

Défi Vélo Desjardins
The Défi Vélo Desjardins brings Desjardins Group officers and employees together to raise funds. The funds will go to the pediatric oncology units of the CHUQ and CHU Sainte-Justine, whose clinical research goals are to improve the outcomes and reduce the long-term consequences of treatment. As members of the two largest pediatric oncology research groups in North America, the Children's Oncology Group and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, the 2 university hospital centres allow young Quebec patients to receive the newest and most effective treatments for their type of illnesses and stage of cancer.

Photo album – The Fondation pour la promotion de la pédiatrie sociale
Desjardins Group supports the Fondation pour la promotion de la pédiatrie sociale (FPPS), founded in 2005 by Dr. Gilles Julien, by contributing to the launch of the "Ces enfants que nous aimons tant" photo album.

The album includes 20 well-known artists and business people who generously agreed to publish pictures depicting their family life on behalf of Dr. Julien's cause. Christian Bégin, Denis Arcand and Denise Robert, Michel Rivard, Marie Turgeon and Patrice L'Écuyer, to name a few, all allowed photographer Pasquale Charland to take pictures of their children.

The photo album is on sale for $39.95. Approximately 90% of proceeds will go directly to the Fondation pour la promotion de la pédiatrie sociale.

The Fondation pour la promotion de la pédiatrie sociale was created to promote and defend the rights of children from underpriviliged communities through social pediatrics. One of its goals is to support social pediatric projects and train young doctors and other professionals working with children.

The Portage Foundation
Portage centres specialize in the treatment of drug addiction and are located in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick. Desjardins' partnership with Portage began in 1998 and actively continues today.

Fondation du CHUQ
The Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec (CHUQ) is the largest hospital centre in Eastern Quebec. It includes the CHUL, Hôtel Dieu de Québec and Hôpital St-François d'Assise and serves 1.7 million people, i.e. 23% of Quebec's population.

Desjardins Group's $2 M donation will allow the CHUQ to finance projects related research and cardiovascular health and the fight against cancer.

5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge
Desjardins is a major partner of the 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge since the very beginning. The partnership demonstrates Desjardins's will to promote healthy daily habits within its organization and among the general public. Desjardins particularly supports families with the "2011 Desjardins Health Challenge Family" contest. For having successfully met the 5/30 Health Challenge, the Pelletier family of Trois-Rivières received a $5,000 Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP).

Portail eformation-santé Desjardins
Desjardins is proud to partner with the Centre d'expertise en santé de Sherbrooke (CESS) to develop and implement an exceptional tool in the field of health services: the Portail eformation-santé Desjardins.

The portal serves as a Web platform for various workers in the Quebec provincial health network, providing access to online training as well as to content that health professionals may use on the job.

Aware that sharing and keeping abreast of the most innovative knowledge are issues that matter greatly, especially in the ever-changing field of health, Desjardins Group did not hesitate to support the CESS' initiative.

Mental Illness Foundation (MIF)

The Mental Illness Foundation works to prevent and detect mental illness. Its goal is to alleviate the suffering of people affected with mental illnesses and their loved ones, by empowering individuals and society at large. Since 2008, Desjardins has been partnering with the MIF to offer its managers and employees the Nothing's Working? program: training for managing stress, anxiety and other mental issues that can cause absenteeism. Desjardins's contribution also funds awareness and training programs to equip high school students and older adults in Quebec with the tools they need to remain healthy and prevent mental illnesses.
