In pursuit of its mission, Desjardins contributes to the improvement of economic and social well-being of individuals and communities. Of the $79.6 million it gave back in 2010 to communities in the form of donations and sponsorships of all kinds, $8.5 million was earmarked for arts and culture.


Festival International des Rythmes du Monde
Festival International des Rythmes du Monde
July and August 2011

With over 200,000 spectators each year, the Festival International des Rythmes du Monde de Saguenay is the largest world music festival in Quebec. Over an 11-day period, nearly 1,000 artists and craftsmen from 20 different countries will give free shows.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to experience the Zone Desjardins at the Vieux-Port de Chicoutimi, which offers family activities for young and old.

For a 6th consecutive year, Desjardins continues its association with the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and hosts the Sorties du TNM. The theatre tour is sure to please a large public in several Quebec regions once again this year.

Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival
Downtown Sudbury, Ontario is transformed into a bustling hub during the festival and more than 100 films are screened (documentaries, short films and animated features). Cinéfest Sudbury also features a video artist competition and a forum on the Canadian film industry.

The Quebec City Summer Festival has earned quite a reputation! Again this year, Desjardins is pleased to partner with Grands événements Desjardins to present the brightest stars in music today.

Le Paradis du Nord
July 7 to August 13, 2011

Desjardins is proud to present Paradis du Nord, a large-scale historical show relating the highlights of the development and settlement of Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Produced by Troupe À Coeur ouvert, this musical show features more than 75 comedians, singers, dancers and gymnasts performing on an impressive stage, with a multimedia projection and spectacular set.

Festival de Lanaudière

The 34th annual Festival de Lanaudière is the destination of choice for classical music lovers, amid nature, culture and enchantment. For over 30 years, this large-scale musical event has presented over 25 concerts per season, to the great pleasure of over 60,000 music lovers.

Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac
June 9 to 12, 2011
The Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac is considered the "biggest small festival". For 4 days, Tadoussac becomes the place where music lovers meet to discover or rediscover talented French songwriters. The small and intimate Festival de Tadoussac draws approximately 40 musical groups and presents about 60 shows to song lovers.

Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau

To celebrate the 24th annual Festival de montgolfière de Gatineau, all eyes will be turned skyward to view 80 balloons, some with very unique shapes. As part of its commitment to sustainable development, Desjardins proudly supports the green side of this event by providing shuttles, a bike park and recycling stations for festival-goers.

Enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere of the annual Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée in a small Gaspé town. Each year, the event allows up and coming artists to take workshops and showcase their talent.

The 44th Annual Festival Western de Saint-Tite will include 10 days of unforgettable festivities: professional rodeos, country dancing and a variety of shows.
