In pursuit of its mission, Desjardins contributes to the improvement of economic and social well-being of individuals and communities. Of the $64 million it gave back in 2006 to communities in the form of donations and sponsorships of all kinds, $5.6 million was earmarked for arts and culture.

Festival international de la chanson de Granby September 5 to 15. Dumas will be the host of the 39th Annual Festival international de la chanson de Granby. Once again, one contestant will be declared the winner and will walk away with various prizes and scholarships totalling nearly $50,000. Semi-finals will be held on September 5, 6, 7 and 8. The Desjardins Grand Finale will take place on Saturday, September 15. |

Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac June 14 to 17. Winner of the 2006 Félix prize for best event, the Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac is back for the 24th year with a line-up that is sure to please song lovers. Festival international des rythmes du monde de Saguenay August 1 to 5. For a fifth year, the Festival international des rythmes du monde de Saguenay promises to be warm and colourful as over 500 international artists, artisans and musicians from fifteen countries converge on downtown Chicoutimi. Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau August 31 to September 3. To celebrate the Festival de montgolfière de Gatineau's 20th year, all eyes will be turned skyward to view 80 balloons, some with very unique shapes. On September 1, Desjardins will present a non-stop and varied program, including a show on the Main Stage featuring Eva Avila, rides and much more. Get to the Parc de la Baie free on STO-Desjardins shuttles or hop on your bicycle, which you'll be able to leave in the Desjardins bike parking area. |

The 25th annual Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée is hosted by Daniel Boucher and includes workshops and discussions.
