In pursuit of its mission, Desjardins contributes to the improvement of economic and social well-being of individuals and communities. Of the $64 million it gave back in 2006 to communities in the form of donations and sponsorships of all kinds, $5.6 million was earmarked for arts and culture.

 Since its creation in 1989, Les FrancoFolies de Montréal has had as its goal to promote French-language songs and encourage artists throughout the French-speaking world. Desjardins Group is proud to be the official sponsor of the FrancoFolies de Montréal and presenter of the "Monde Pop Desjardins", which includes two outdoor concert series, "Les espoirs Desjardins", devoted to the next generation of singers and "Chanson festive Desjardins", starring well-known young artists from Quebec and France. Desjardins is also sponsoring the brand new "Musique d'ici et d'ailleurs - Desjardins" series, presented inside the Complexe Desjardins. |

Festival de Lanaudière July 7 to August 5. The 30th Annual Festival de Lanaudière will present a program highlighting this anniversary year. Don't miss the Sunday events on the Concert Desjardins stage. Come picnic and enjoy the music with your family and friends. Featured are "Hommage à Piaf" by Angélique Duruisseau, "Tourbillon de valses viennoises" and "Les Grands Succès de Broadway" by the Sinfonia de Lanaudière, Beethoven's famous Ode to Joy by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie of Bremen and the much-anticipated Marco Calliari. Festival international de la chanson de Granby September 5 to 15. Dumas will be the host of the 39th Annual Festival international de la chanson de Granby. Once again, one contestant will be declared the winner and will walk away with various prizes and scholarships totalling nearly $50,000. Semi-finals will be held on September 5, 6, 7 and 8. The Desjardins Grand Finale will take place on Saturday, September 15. |

Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac June 14 to 17. Winner of the 2006 Félix prize for best event, the Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac is back for the 24th year with a line-up that is sure to please song lovers. The Desjardins stage will host two Richard Desjardins shows, "Richard Desjardins et sa guétard" and "Kanasuta". Yann Perreau, Patrick Watson, Mononc'Serge and Pierre Flynn and guests. |

La nouvelle Fabuleuse ou les Aventures d'un Flo June 29 to August 18. Festival international des rythmes du monde de Saguenay August 1 to 5. For a fifth year, the Festival international des rythmes du monde de Saguenay promises to be warm and colourful as over 500 international artists, artisans and musicians from fifteen countries converge on downtown Chicoutimi. This festival and the free concerts presented on the Desjardins Stage are definitely something you don't want to miss. |

Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau August 31 to September 3. To celebrate the Festival de montgolfière de Gatineau's 20th year, all eyes will be turned skyward to view 80 balloons, some with very unique shapes. On September 1, Desjardins will present a non-stop and varied program, including a show on the Main Stage featuring Eva Avila, rides and much more. Get to the Parc de la Baie free on STO-Desjardins shuttles or hop on your bicycle, which you'll be able to leave in the Desjardins bike parking area. |

Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée June 25 to July 3. Enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere of this music festival in a small Gaspé town. The 25th annual Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée is hosted by Daniel Boucher and includes workshops and discussions. Desjardins will award $1,000 to the winner in the "Artiste collaborateur" (collaborating artist) category. |

Festival Western de Saint-Tite September 7 to 16. The 40th Annual Festival Western de Saint-Tite will include ten days of unforgettable festivities: professional rodeos, including the Desjardins Rodeo on September 8, country dancing and shows. Guelph Jazz Festival September 5 to 9. The widely-anticipated 14th Annual Guelph Jazz Festival will feature international and Canadian jazz musicians. The beats of jazz will resonate throughout downtown Guelph and the university campus. |

Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival September 15 to 23. Downtown Sudbury, Ontario is transformed into a bustling hub during the festival and more than 100 films are screened (documentaries, short films and animated features). Cinéfest Sudbury also features a video artist competition and a forum on the Canadian film industry. |

Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec Desjardins Group reaffirms the importance it gives to the arts and culture by renewing its partnership for the next three years with the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and by its association to the "Le Louvre à Québec" exhibit, which will be held from June 5 to October 26, 2008. The exhibit will showcase the diversity and quality of the Louvre's collections. |
