Prix Reconnaissance Jeunes dirigeants Desjardins
This prize is exclusively for Desjardins caisse elected officers who are:
- young intern officers
- elected officers under 35 years of age
The Prix Reconnaissance Jeunes dirigeants Desjardins recognizes the contribution of young officers to Desjardins Group. Candidates must submit their accomplishments or projects currently underway1 (at
least 70% completed) either within or outside Desjardins Group as officers, in the following fields:
- contribution to cooperation: promote or ensure the cooperative difference outreach to youth and the community;
- community or youth outreach: implement key projects and address youth-specific problems which will translate into significant, concrete and different ways for the caisse to interact with young people (caisse members, young people in the community
or organizations dedicated to the young people in the community);
- contribution to associative affairs: contributing to the implementation of projects or initiatives that support the community’s development or revitalization;
- contribution to democracy: enable members to get involved in the caisse’s democratic life by making their participation concrete and interactive (e.g., general meeting, specific counselling, etc.).

Registration period: April 15 to June 15, 2009

Prize
Fondation Desjardins will award 1 grand prize to the winner and 2 honourable mentions: each will receive a certificate.
- First prize: $3,500
- 1st honourable mention: $1,000
- 2nd honourable mention: $500
Selection criteria
Achievements will be judged according to the following criteria:
- initiative (exceeding the candidate's established role)
- originality
- breadth
- durability and replication potential
- positive outreach for youth and the community
Selection
Selection will take place early September, by a jury of 3:
- a member of Desjardins Group's Cooperative Orientations Commission
- a duly-elected caisse officer
- a Desjardins Youth Focus representative
Prize
The prize will be awarded to the winner during Cooperation Week. The names of the winner and finalists will be announced to the cooperative network in a press release to be published also in local and regional newspapers (at the discretion of
concerned caisses).

1. A project currently underway must include, in the application file:
- a project completion plan with stages estimated in percentages; and
- a progress report, on the application deadline.
