Knowledge Transfer for the Desjardins: Building the Future program

Educational guiding principles

"Before, during and after"

This principle is popular in adult education and when applied, favours motivation over training and facilitates the transfer of training.

Distinct material

Concrete material fosters the learning process and explains structured information that is often written and unchanging (e.g.: the mission of Desjardins Group).

Development material provides food for thought, new points of view, fodder for dialogue and the opportunity to discuss paradoxes in the organization.

Development material may become concrete material, as is the case of the triennial strategic orientations of Desjardins Group or of business positions.

Consideration for a variety of learning styles

All DCI programs take the participants' learning styles into consideration. Since any given group of people includes all learning styles, DCI does not favour one style over another. A learning style is a person's way of thinking, memorizing and problem-solving.

Facilitation

To ensure maximum benefits for the participants, facilitation is based on the following primary principles:

  • to provide participants the opportunity to learn more about themselves and one another;
  • to allow downtime for reflection;
  • to stimulate creativity and imagination;
  • to use games as a discovery tool while encouraging cooperation and team spirit.
