Print charter

Green Office Guidelines

A print charter is used primarily to provide the guidelines you want to establish for your unit. The Fédération has published one that you can consult at the end of this document.

Here are a few examples of recommendations you can put into practice:

  1. Recommend the electronic transfer of work in progress without printing.

  2. Send newsletters, memos and other documents via e-mail, or by using the bulletin board or voicemail.

  3. Limit the number of pages in documents and include, if needed, links to other electronic documents.

  4. Reduce the print run for certain administrative reports. The person responsible for producing the document can print a more accurate number of copies by comparing the quantity ordered in previous years and checking the number left over. An electronic version can be used to fill late orders.

  5. Plan to send electronic greeting cards as appropriate.

  6. Post policies and charters that apply to your unit on the intranet.
