I always ask myself if a cover sheet is necessary.
I stick a Post-It note on one corner of the fax sheet with all the relevant information (e.g., recipient's name). This eliminates the need for a cover sheet and also reduces the transmission time.
I use the blank sides of used sheets of paper as cover sheets.
I use one half of the cover sheet for contact information and the other for a brief message.
I program the fax machine to print a confirmation sheet once a day (some fax machines will print an individual confirmation when necessary) whenever I can.
I use the fax mailing function in Lotus Notes to send documents whenever I can.
When I make photocopies…
I use the Reduce function when necessary to get as much text on a page as possible.
I use the double-sided copying option whenever I can.
I take advantage of any training offered to better understand the copier's various functions.
