Call for applications: Up to $500,000 in Ontario. Working together on local projects.

Are you working on a project for your community? You could be eligible for funding! We'll be awarding up to $500,000 to support meaningful projects.1 Submit your project between April 16 and June 16, 2024.

Community Development Fund

Through this fund, Desjardins Ontario Credit Union contributes to sustainable development projects that have a real impact in Ontario communities.

Following a needs assessment of the Ontario communities we serve, Desjardins Ontario Credit Union is launching a call for applications to support organizations, associations and cooperatives working on meaningful projects that will positively impact their local community. These projects must fall under 1 of the 5 priorities identified in the needs assessment and outlined in the credit union's community involvement plan.

The main investment priorities

  • Entrepreneurship and business succession
  • Economic excellence and innovation hubs
  • Promoting success in education and training
  • Environment
  • Health and healthy lifestyle choices

Note: Innovative projects that don't fall under these priorities may still be considered. The Cooperation Committee will decide how to distribute the funding according to the budget available and the projects presented.

What are meaningful projects?

They're projects that:

  • Unite various groups around a common goal
  • Have a lasting positive impact on the community
  • Generate significant added value for people and their community
  • Empower them to take charge of their development and ability to act

How to submit a project

  1. Read and make sure you meet the eligibility criteria (PDF, 627 KB) - .
  2. Submit your project during the call for applications.

Selected projects will be announced in the week of August 19, 2024.

1. A maximum of $50,000 will be awarded to each project selected. The credit union reserves the right to redirect the application to another of its financial assistance programs.
