How it works

When someone transfers funds via their bank's online banking application, the recipient member receives an Interac money transfer notice by e-mail. This notice provides instructions on how to deposit the money that's been sent. The funds are then transferred into the member's account by direct deposit.

Processing time

Recipients receive funds within 4 to 6 business days.

A $4.00 fee is debited from the deposited amount.

  1. The inter-Caisses limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day to a Desjardins caisse or Desjardins Credit Union branch other than the one in which you have your account. The inter-Caisses limit usually awarded by default to all individual folios is $1,000 per day. Your caisse or Desjardins Credit Union branch can elect to increase or decrease the limit (to a maximum of $2,500).
  2. For security reasons, a 48-hour delay is required from the time you add a new recipient to your list to the time the transfer is completed. Subsequent transfers will be completed immediately.
