Automatic deposit of money into your account. Eliminates the risk of loss or theft. Funds are available on the appropriate date or on the next business day if the deposit date falls on a weekend.

Direct deposit of your salary

To have your salary deposited directly into your account, simply contact your employer or the organization that pays you and fill out a registration form (PDF, 15 KB).

Direct deposit from Revenu Québec

Register for Revenu Québec's direct deposit service, to get the following payments directly deposited into your accounts:

  • your solidarity tax credit (as of July 2011), including:
    • your property tax refund
    • your Quebec Sales Tax credit (QST)1
    • your credit for individuals living in northern villages
  • your income tax refund
  • your advance payments of work premium tax credit
  • your advance payments of the tax credit for child-care expenses
  • your advance payments of the tax credit for home-support services for seniors
  • your spousal and child support payments
  • your shelter allowance payments

There are 3 ways to sign up for direct deposit:

Direct deposit from the Régie des rentes du Québec

Sign up for direct deposit at any time on the Régie des rentes du Québec website.

You can get direct deposit of:

  • your child assistance payments
  • your pension payments under the Québec Pension Plan (retirement pension, disability pension, surviving spouse's pension, etc.)

There are 2 ways to sign up for direct deposit:

Direct deposit from Canada Revenue Agency

Sign up for direct deposit from Canada Revenue Agency, by simply signing the forms available at your caisse.

You can get direct deposit of:

  • your income tax refunds
  • your GST/HST tax credits
  • your Working Income Tax Benefit (WITB) advance payments
  • your Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) advance payments
  • your Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) advance payments

Whether you're paying back a friend, helping out a loved one or paying rent and child care fees, Desjardins offers 2 simple and secure ways to transfer funds via AccèsD Internet or mobile: money transfers between individuals and Interac e-Transfers.

Interac e-Transfers are a simple and secure way to transfer funds to a recipient at another Canadian financial institution or Desjardins.

All the recipient needs is a bank account in Canada and an email address or mobile phone number. Transfers must be in Canadian currency.

Features

Fast

Funds are available as soon as the transfer is accepted by the recipient. Minimum processing time: 30 minutes.

A security question lets you ensure the transfer was sent to the right recipient.

Multiple access

Transactions can be made on AccèsD Internet and AccèsD mobile.

Maximum amount

You can transfer up to C$1,000 per day.

For security reasons, first-time Interac e-Transfers are subject to a temporary limit of $1,000 for a 48-hour period.

Minimum transfer amount is $10.

Cost

Additional fee of $11 applies.

No fee applies if you are the transfer recipient.

How it works

Virement Interac

To transfer funds to a recipient, you must be registered for AccèsD.

All you need to know is the email address or mobile phone number of the person to whom you want to transfer funds. This information is used only to notify the recipient that a transfer has been made2.

Recipients receive an e-mail or text message notifying them that the funds can be deposited to their bank account.

You receive an email or text message confirming that the funds have been deposited to their bank account3.

Log on to AccèsD and follow these steps to make an Interac e-Transfer:

Create your profile

From the left-hand menu, select Interac e-Transfers and then My Interac profile. Enter your email address to create your profile. You'll then be ready to make your first Interac e-Transfer.

Add a recipient

Select Interac e-Transfers, then Transfer funds, and click on the Add a recipient button. Enter the recipient's name and email address or mobile phone number. Enter a security question and answer.

Transfer funds

Select Interac e-Transfers and then Transfer funds. Follow the directions to make an Interac e-Transfer. The recipient will be notified that the funds can be deposited to his or her account. Interac e-transfers: Virer fonds

Did you know?
If the recipient is a Desjardins member or Visa Desjardins cardholder, money transfers may be a better option since you avoid the fees associated with Interac e-Transfers.

  1. Interac fees of $1 are not refundable. If you have a plan and do not exceed the number of monthly transactions allowed, no additional fees will apply.
  2. Recipients must be a member of a participating financial institution and have secure online access to their accounts on that financial institution's website.
  3. Funds not deposited by recipients within 30 days will be returned to you.

Use this feature to:

  • transfer money to the account of another Desjardins member, Desjardins Credit Union member or Visa Desjardins cardholder
  • receive money from another Desjardins or Desjardins Credit Union member in complete security
  • pay money you owe another individual (for your share of a group gift or reservation, etc.)
  • pay for occasional services (e.g., plumber, electrician, etc.)
  • pay for recurring expenses (e.g., rent and child care fees)
  • help out a parent, friend or child studying away from home
  • get paid back

How it works

Create your list of recipients

Get the information required from each recipient you want to add to your list. Or obtain from the information from a specimen cheque marked "VOID". All the information required is on the cheque. Log on to AccèsD to enter the information.

  • If you use AccèsD and the ATM

    To have your list of money transfer recipients displayed at the ATM, log on to AccèsD and click on:

    • User file in the upper right-hand portion of the screen
    • Manage list of recipients at the ATMunder “Money transfers” in the left hand menu.
  • If you use only the ATM

    Contact an advisor at 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737) or 514-CAISSES (514-224-7737) for the Montreal area, or visit your caisse.

Once you've made your list of recipients, you can transfer funds to their account instantly3:

  • on AccèsD (from the Transactions/Operations tab, click on Money transfers in the left-hand menu) or
  • at the ATM (click on Transfer and then on Money transfers

  1. The inter-Caisses limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day to a Desjardins caisse or Desjardins Credit Union branch other than the one in which you have your account. The inter-Caisses limit usually awarded by default to all individual folios is $1,000 per day. Your caisse or Desjardins Credit Union branch can elect to increase or decrease the limit (to a maximum of $2,500).
  2. For security reasons, a 48-hour delay is required from the time you add a new recipient to your list to the time the transfer is completed. Subsequent transfers will be completed immediately.
