Cost
The cost is based on your age, and increases at age 45, 55, 60 and 65.
Types of coverage
Choose from 4 types of coverage:
- Individual
- Couple
- Family
- Single parent
Duration
- For you: Coverage ends when you turn 70 or if you request cancellation
- For your spouse: Coverage ends when you or your spouse turns 70
- For your children: Coverage ends on the first of the following dates:
- Your 70th birthday
- Your child’s 26th birthday
You must
- Be between the ages of 18 and 64 (children must be under age 20)
- Meet the medical underwriting criteria
- Be covered by your provincial health plan
Additional coverage
- With extended coverage, get higher reimbursement amounts for:
- Prescription drugs
- Dental care
